In order to provide an outstanding atmosphere for our guests, we must provide a VERY CLEAN environment. This position has a lot of CLEANING responsibility and requires ATTENTION TO DETAIL of each animal’s behavior and health!

We require our employees to be punctual, presentable, professional, courteous and kind-hearted. This job requires you to walk, lift, bend, stand, and crouch throughout the ENTIRE shift. A lot of our work is outdoors and you will have to work outside in all weather conditions.

Receptionist

Front & Back Office

The Dog House (TDH) Office Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients and employees. The role of the Receptionist is to create a welcoming environment for the company, its clients, and guests. The Receptionist will provide new clients with an overview of TDH’s services, costs, and availability. They are the primary contact for client interactions and will foster TDH ongoing relationship by ensuring each client’s experience is met with satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates a welcoming environment by greeting guests, answering phone calls, scheduling reservations and appointments, directing visitors, and taking messages for employees
  • Becomes proficient in TDH Pet Exec software to include the following tasks:
    • Creates new client profiles
    • Updates client information when needed:
      • Contact information
      • Emergency Contact
      • Credit Card on file
      • Primary Veterinarian
      • Vaccination records for each client pet and ensures they are up to date prior to confirming any reservation
      • Ensures all clients have completed the Customer agreement form
      • Completes client check in and check out
        • Takes complete inventory of client/pet items left with the dog house in Pet Exec to print on the run card
        • Documents each pet’s health/behavioral concerns including incidents occurring during the boarding stay or while attending daycare, grooming services
        • Documents feeding instructions provided by client
        • Solicits and adds services to boarding reservations
      • Creates/prints reports i.e., Services for next day, Med Charts, doggy day care report card
  • Creates wellness charts for incoming boarding reservations
  • Creates paper collars for incoming reservations
  • Communicates with clients in a professional manner over the phone, via text, email, answering all questions related to services, pricing, discounts, etc.
  • Takes customer complaints or issues and pass them on to the appropriate parties
  • Organizes and files company documents both electronically using TDH Google Drive and the paper filing system
  • Maintains the Front Office
    • Sweeping and mopping the floors as needed
    • Keeping the reception desk neat and orderly
    • Watering in and outdoor plants
    • Cleaning windows
    • Dusting ceiling fan and reception desk etc.
    • Taking out front desk garbage to onsite dumpster
    • Ensure office supplies are in stock requesting reorders at par levels
  • Provides support for all staff when necessary
  • Communicates professionally via walkie with staff
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures

Kennel Technician

Front & Back Office

The primary function of the Kennel Technician is maintaining a safe and sanitary facility for animals and people and providing humane handling and care for all pets. Job duties include but not limited to handling and care of all customers pets. Rendering all customer requested services and daily cleaning of all kennel areas. Applicants must be physically active, reliable, compassionate and willing to work hard and learn. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned:

Animal Care

  • Monitor animals and immediately report health or behavior abnormalities to Manager or Owner.
  • Provide adequate food and water to pets following owner guidelines.
  • Walk dogs, monitor doggy day care or one on one fetch services.
  • Rotate to dogs to outside kennels twice a shift for potty breaks.
  • Perform animal bathing (brushing, de-shedding, drying).
  • Perform internal and external anal glands.
  • Preform nail trimming and dremeling.
  • Administer oral medication and give vaccinations to animals.
  • Assist with animal intake, weighing, evaluation and treatment.
  • Create and maintain necessary animal records, perform data entry into Gingr.
  • Transport animals for veterinary care or surgery.
  • Able and willing to work holidays and weekends.

Facility Care

  • Follow established disease control protocols to daily clean, disinfect and maintain all kennel floor walkways, pets spaces and general areas.
  • Sweep, mop and disinfect floors on a daily basis.
  • Deep clean all Mason Kennels, including tops and bottoms of cages, intake and isolation areas on a regular basis.
  • Operate laundry equipment, fold laundry and wash dishes.
  • Restock cleaning areas with supplies and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain the daycare yard and outdoor common areas, including weed pulling and lawn maintenance.

Key Results Area

  • All animals in The Dog House's care are treated humanely, which can be measured by their lowered level of stress and maintained health.
  • Facility and common areas are maintained clean and organized; staff, public and volunteers can easily find what they are looking for, public has a pleasant experience in our facility.
  • Teamwork–positive, cooperative work environment is maintained. Daily goals are accomplished by relying on each other’s help. Intake and medical information in Gingr is accurate and up to date.

Vaccination Requirements

Legally, we can no longer contact your vet requesting any medical information, including vaccinations, without your prior written consent.

For adult dogs, please submit vaccinations to include: Rabies, DAPPv and Bordetella. We require the Bordetella every 6 months for boarding/daycare. Bordetella Vaccinations must be administered AT LEAST 14 days prior to the boarding reservation start date. Bordetella Vaccinations must be administered AT LEAST 72 hours prior to doggie daycare drop off.

Puppies are required to have 3 rounds of puppy DHPP vaccinations before they can board at our facility.

For your felines please submit vaccinations to include: FeLV, FVRCP and Rabies and proof of negative FIV test.
